The Camp Shalom Story

Camp Shalom is a co-ed day camp, located in Windsor, CT. We offer a multitude of sports activities, tennis, archery, field sports, gaga, basketball, volleyball, hockey, amazing aquatic activities in our swimming pool and at our waterfront, boating, water-skiing, tubing, fishing, arts- music, drama, pottery, arts & crafts, low ropes challenge course and climbing wall, Israeli culture. We provide bussing and a hot kosher lunch daily.

Our Camp Leadership

Camping & Youth Director | Karen Wyckoff

I have been employed by the JCC for 33 years, beginning as the camp administrator under David Jacobs, our now Executive Director. I have held many different positions outside of the camping field, over the years, but none as worthwhile and meaningful as the Camp & Youth Director. Being off-site, outside and with children and teens all summer long is the highlight of my year. The JCC has truly been my home away from home, as well as my extended family! My daughters were born here, grew up here, and my eldest is presently working with me as the Children's Director, in hopes to follow in my footsteps.

Why We Host Schlichim

"Hosting Shlichim during the summers remains a wonderful experience for our family. Each year we meet dynamic and fascinating young Israelis with whom we maintain contact long after the summer has gone. Our kids are the greatest beneficiaries of the experience, finding in the Shlichim individuals who they come to regard as older siblings. It is an event we look forward to every year with good reason and plan on continuing for years to come."
