The Hyde Park JCC Day Camp Story

At Hyde Park JCC Day Camp, your child may hit his first home run or catch a high fly at a lively game of T-ball. With sports galore, kids run off plenty of steam chasing balls, jumping to catch one and chasing each other on the fields, too. At the beach, they dig right in and create masterpieces in the sand. At area pools, they splish 'n' splash and learn to swim with our American Red Cross Learn to Swim program. Our littlest campers try their hand at it all, and then they get together to sing, tell stories, have a puppet show or make a volcano. Every summer camp day is filled with fun and surprises! From the youngest camper just venturing out on her own, to the older, experienced camper looking for more excitement, we have the programs and trained staff to make kids happy. And it’s all so close to home. Each day at JCC Day Camp, your child will explore new interests, build confidence, make lifelong friends and develop independence. The lakefront of Chicago is their personal playground and their counselors are their best friends in the world. Their summer is a magical journey and yet they are minutes from their own front door. They are having the best time ever — in the best place under the sun!

Why We Host Schlichim

"Hosting Shlichim during the summers remains a wonderful experience for our family. Each year we meet dynamic and fascinating young Israelis with whom we maintain contact long after the summer has gone. Our kids are the greatest beneficiaries of the experience, finding in the Shlichim individuals who they come to regard as older siblings. It is an event we look forward to every year with good reason and plan on continuing for years to come."

- Soberman Family, The Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp, Prosserman JCC

Connecting with Israel

“Although it was so new, Israel brought upon me a familiar sense of belonging much like what I feel at Camp Chi every summer. The ability to be in a place where one feels so free and proud to be a Jew is a feeling that makes me so proud to be involved in my Jewish heritage.” - Joshua Krawitz, 17, Camp Chi, JCC Chicago
