The JCC Day Camps Story

JCC Day Camps are located on more than 250 wooded acres and feature indoor and outdoor pools, a fishing and boating pond, nature trails, Shalom Street Children’s Museum, a library with books for children of all ages, a ropes challenge course, Inline Hockey Center, basketball courts, playgrounds for every age, mini-golf, a zipline and gaga pits. JCC Day Camps are a place where kids can have the adventure of a lifetime as they make friends, splash in the pool on a summer day, learn new skills, see a deer along a nature trail, enjoy a game of baseball, create a beautiful ceramic pot or have their faces painted as they get ready for color war. We offer more than 100 camps so that children can choose exactly what they want to do. There are also field trips, outdoor activities, art, sports, theme days and a lot of fun surprises. Our goal is to provide children with the summer of their dreams in a safe, happy and nurturing environment. Each of our camps is guided by and infused with Jewish values of respect, compassion and understanding, making for a program like no other in Michigan.

Why We Host Schlichim

"Hosting Shlichim during the summers remains a wonderful experience for our family. Each year we meet dynamic and fascinating young Israelis with whom we maintain contact long after the summer has gone. Our kids are the greatest beneficiaries of the experience, finding in the Shlichim individuals who they come to regard as older siblings. It is an event we look forward to every year with good reason and plan on continuing for years to come."

- Soberman Family, The Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp, Prosserman JCC

Connecting with Israel

“Although it was so new, Israel brought upon me a familiar sense of belonging much like what I feel at Camp Chi every summer. The ability to be in a place where one feels so free and proud to be a Jew is a feeling that makes me so proud to be involved in my Jewish heritage.” - Joshua Krawitz, 17, Camp Chi, JCC Chicago
