The MJCC Day Camp Story

The Memphis Jewish Community Center’s Day Camp is a nurturing community that creates a safe and fun environment for our campers, with Jewish values at our core. Our caring staff fosters every camper’s self-esteem and confidence, and our wide variety of activities inspires campers to make new friends and learn new skills. Traditional Camp is the perfect place for a kid to be a kid. Each day is filled with dynamic programming, allowing each camper to explore his or her own interests and to try new activities. As part of our commitment to creating a well-rounded program that develops well-rounded campers, we have several activity specialists on staff that traditional camp groups visit each week. Multiple groups in each age range make up a unit. We also offer a variety of sports and specialty camps. From Circus Camp, Art Camp, and STEAM Camp to Soccer Camp, Basketball Camp, Tennis Camp, and more; there is sure to be something for everyone in our jam-packed summer. All campers enjoy our outdoor water park everyday. Campers age 4- entering 6th grade have instructional swim and free swim each day.

Why We Host Schlichim

"Hosting Shlichim during the summers remains a wonderful experience for our family. Each year we meet dynamic and fascinating young Israelis with whom we maintain contact long after the summer has gone. Our kids are the greatest beneficiaries of the experience, finding in the Shlichim individuals who they come to regard as older siblings. It is an event we look forward to every year with good reason and plan on continuing for years to come."

- Soberman Family, The Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp, Prosserman JCC

Connecting with Israel

“Although it was so new, Israel brought upon me a familiar sense of belonging much like what I feel at Camp Chi every summer. The ability to be in a place where one feels so free and proud to be a Jew is a feeling that makes me so proud to be involved in my Jewish heritage.” - Joshua Krawitz, 17, Camp Chi, JCC Chicago
